Why it’s HorroRated
Wood is wonderfully awkward as a fussy man-child desperate for approval, and his early scenes with McHattie are an exquisite study in mounting discomfort. Then the film swerves, gleefully, into something nastier and much funnier, and Timpson keeps the surprises coming without losing the oddball sweetness underneath. It's violent and grotesque at times, so the squeamish should tread carefully. A fantastic midnight movie for anyone who likes their horror weird.
