Why it’s HorroRated
Tusk is a film that should not work, and it works. Kevin Smith's commitment to taking an absurd premise with total seriousness is the move that saves it, and Michael Parks's performance as Howard Howe is one of the great villain turns in recent horror. Strange, funny, disturbing, and unlike anything else. It earns its place here.
Synopsis
Wallace arrives at Howard Howe's remote home expecting a conventional interview and finds that Howard has plans involving transformation in a very literal sense. Kevin Smith's horror film commits to its absurd premise with more seriousness than the premise invites and Michael Parks carries the film on his performance alone. Strange, funny, and disturbing in ways that earn its place here.
