Ghost Ship opens with one of the best cold opens in early 2000s horror and then spends 90 minutes not quite matching it. The wire sequence is shocking and creative in ways the rest of the film fails to replicate. The production design on the ship is solid. Worth watching for that opening and for fans of nautical horror who want more of the genre.

Synopsis

The Ferriman crew discovers the long-missing Antonia Graza and starts figuring out how to get it back to port. The opening sequence is one of the better cold opens in early 2000s horror. What follows doesn't match it, but the ghost story mechanics work well enough in the ship setting.
