Why it’s HorroRated
Jaws made people afraid of the ocean and showed Hollywood what a blockbuster could be, but none of that matters as much as the fact that it's just a great film. Three men on a boat, running out of options, Spielberg making every single second count. It belongs on this list and it always will.
Synopsis
Chief Brody is new to Amity and already uneasy when the first body washes up. The town's summer economy makes honesty complicated, and by the time three men are out on the water together, the shark has already made its intentions clear. Spielberg's pacing is what makes this work, knowing exactly when to show you something and when not to.
