Why it’s HorroRated
Jeepers Creepers earns its reputation in the first half alone, which is as tense and well-paced as anything in early 2000s horror. The Creeper is an original monster with just enough mystery around it to stay unsettling. It doesn't overstay its welcome and it doesn't over-explain itself. Exactly what a good creature feature should be.
Synopsis
Trish and Darry witness something that pulls them off the road and into territory they can't get back out of. The Creeper is one of the more original monster designs the genre produced in the early 2000s and the film earns its tension by keeping the creature's capabilities uncertain for most of its running time. The first act alone justifies the film's reputation.
