Why it’s HorroRated
McKeown builds his monster story the old-fashioned way, letting the North Atlantic and a tight-knit town carry the dread before anything breaks the surface. Hartnett is terrific as a stubborn, weathered father, and Mackenzie Davis brings sharp intelligence to the marine researcher drawn into the mystery. The family drama gives the scares real stakes, and six episodes keep the story lean. Salt, dread and heart in equal measure: clear a weekend for it.
