Midnight Mass is Mike Flanagan's most personal and most thematically rich work. It's a horror series about faith, addiction, community, and mortality and it takes every one of those subjects seriously. The show is slow, deliberately and beautifully so, and the dialogue-heavy episodes reward patience with some of the finest horror writing on television. Hamish Linklater as Father Paul is a remarkable performance and the final episodes are extraordinary. One of the best horror series ever made.

Synopsis

Crockett Island is a small and slowly dying fishing community off the coast of Maine where Riley Flynn returns after a tragedy and Father Paul arrives to replace the ailing parish leader. Miracles start happening and the island's desperate faith makes the community dangerously willing to accept what the priest has brought with him. Seven episodes of accumulating dread that doesn't reveal its full weight until it absolutely has to.
