Why it’s HorroRated
Anaconda is a creature feature that knows exactly what it is and commits fully. Jon Voight gives one of the most entertainingly unhinged performances of the 90s and the giant anaconda is deployed with enough confidence to carry the film. It's dumb and fun in a way that a lot of films aim for and miss. Pure genre entertainment.
Synopsis
A nature film team looking for a lost tribe hires a local guide whose real agenda surfaces quickly. Jon Voight plays the hunter with a theatrical commitment that became one of the decade's most referenced supporting performances. The giant snake is deployed with enough confidence to carry the film and it moves at exactly the pace a creature feature should.
