Bride of Killer Nerd

Bride of Killer Nerd is the rare shot-on-video sequel that genuinely improves on its predecessor, and the pacing and storytelling confidence make it a more satisfying watch than the original despite the same rock-bottom production values. Heidi Lohr, playing a different role from the first film, steals the show as Thelma, an Emily Dickinson-loving outcast who turns out to be even more bloodthirsty than Harold once she's pushed far enough. Toby Radloff continues to be the film's central charm, playing Harold with the same distinctive deadpan authenticity that made the original work. The film understands what made Killer Nerd's fans want more, giving Harold an actual partner in crime rather than repeating the solo revenge formula, and the shift pays off. A worthy, entertaining sequel that fans of the original should absolutely seek out.
