House at the End of the Street is a more interesting film than its title and marketing suggest. The proximity horror, living next to a house where something terrible happened, is a premise the film uses intelligently. Jennifer Lawrence gives it more than the script requires. A competent thriller that delivers on its promise.

Synopsis

Sarah is placed with a family near a home where a murder occurred and a young man named Ryan is the only survivor. The film uses the proximity of violence as a sustained anxiety and builds its horror from the domestic rather than the supernatural. A competent thriller that works better than its marketing suggested.
