Wrong Turn 2 is a sequel that understood the appeal of its predecessor and went further in exactly the right direction. Henry Rollins is an inspired choice for the lead and Joe Lynch directs with real energy and more humor than the original. The reality show framing gives it a satirical layer that works in its favor. A better film than it had any reason to be.
Synopsis
Wrong Turn 2 moves the location to a reality show filming in the West Virginia wilderness, putting a larger group directly in the mutant cannibal family's territory. Joe Lynch directs with more gore and more humor than the first film. Henry Rollins in the lead is an inspired casting decision and the satirical layer the format adds actually works.
