Why it’s HorroRated
Children of the Corn has a premise that gets under your skin and stays there. An empty town run by children answering to something in the fields is primal stuff. Isaac and Malachai are unsettling antagonists and the setting does a lot of the work. It's not a perfect film but the image of those kids in the corn is enough.
Synopsis
Gatlin is run entirely by children who answer to a presence called He Who Walks Behind the Rows. The empty town is effectively eerie and Isaac's authority over the other kids is one of the more unsettling performances in Stephen King adaptations. Not a perfect film but the image of those children in the corn fields is enough to carry it.
