Jeremy Renner's performance as Jeffrey Dahmer is the reason to watch this. The film is deliberately understated, presenting Dahmer as mundane and sad rather than monstrous, which is more disturbing than the alternative. David Jacobson keeps the violence mostly offscreen and focuses on loneliness and compulsion. A difficult but serious piece of work.
Synopsis
