Why it’s HorroRated
Ted Bundy is a deliberately provocative and uncomfortable biopic that leans into the disparity between Bundy's surface charm and his violence. Michael Reilly Burke gives a strong performance. It's not a comfortable watch and it doesn't intend to be. For viewers interested in serial killer cinema that doesn't glamorize its subject but doesn't look away either.
Synopsis
The film follows Ted Bundy through a period of his crimes without framing his perspective as sympathetic or his actions as mysterious. Michael Reilly Burke plays the surface coherently while the film maintains its distance from any attempt at explanation. Not a comfortable watch and not designed to be.
