Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead is one of the best horror remakes ever made. The opening sequence remains one of the most effective outbreak depictions in the genre and the mall setting is used with wit and real tension. The ensemble cast is well-chosen and it honors Romero's consumer satire while delivering a legitimately terrifying survival film.
