Gremlins is a horror comedy that leans into both halves without flinching. The Mogwai are adorable right up until they're not, and Joe Dante hides a real mean streak inside the holiday setting. The kitchen scene alone earns its place in the genre. A crowd-pleaser with more darkness than it gets credit for.
Synopsis
