Little Shop of Horrors is one of those rare films where everything clicks at once. Frank Oz brings his Muppet-era puppet craft to Audrey II and the result still holds. The Alan Menken songs are legitimately great, not just serviceable. Steve Martin as the sadistic dentist is its own thing entirely. A legitimate classic.

Synopsis

Little Shop of Horrors is a musical, a horror film, and a dark comedy about appetite and ambition, and Frank Oz manages all three without losing any of them. Rick Moranis and Ellen Greene are both perfectly cast, the Alan Menken songs are legitimately great, and the Jim Henson Company puppet work still holds up completely. One of the rare films where everything clicks at once.
