Why it’s HorroRated
Saw VI is better than V and it has something specific to say about health insurance and the corporate valuation of human life that gives the traps a satirical bite the franchise hadn't attempted before. Hoffman's storyline is getting unwieldy but the film is paced well enough to push through. A partial recovery for the series.
Synopsis
Saw VI builds out the insurance industry subplot while Detective Hoffman's double life becomes increasingly hard to sustain. More politically pointed than most of the series and more structurally confident than V. For franchise viewers it represents a partial recovery of what made the earlier entries work.
