Why it’s HorroRated
Saw II is a confident expansion of the original that adds more traps, more victims, and a strong performance from Tobin Bell as John Kramer. The house full of victims structure gives it room to breathe in ways the single-location first film couldn't. The twist lands well. A worthy second chapter.
Synopsis
Detective Kerry brings in Eric Matthews to deal with Jigsaw directly while the investigation reveals a house full of prisoners working through traps. Tobin Bell's expanded presence as John Kramer is the sequel's most significant addition to the franchise. The interrogation sequences between him and Matthews give the film a dramatic core the first entry didn't have room for.
