Why it’s HorroRated
Texas Chainsaw 3D has an interesting continuity premise that it completely wastes. The attempt to reposition Leatherface as a misunderstood figure is the film's most surprising move and not in a good way. The 3D adds nothing and the script doesn't use its one interesting idea. For franchise completionists who've run out of better options.
Synopsis
A group traveling to claim a property inheritance inadvertently releases Leatherface from where he's been kept since the original film's events. Texas Chainsaw 3D attempts a direct sequel to the 1974 film that acknowledges none of the intervening sequels. The continuity decision is interesting. The execution is not.
