TCM2 is a strange film that leans hard into black comedy while keeping the gore turned all the way up. Tobe Hooper wasn't interested in repeating himself and this is about as different from the original as a sequel could be. Dennis Hopper is completely unhinged and the Sawyer family's underground lair is one of the more memorably grotesque sets in 80s horror. Divisive for a reason but absolutely worth it.
