Wolf Creek is a deliberately paced, brutal piece of outback horror that earns its reputation. Greg McLean takes his time establishing the victims as real people before Mick Taylor enters the picture and John Jarratt's performance as Mick is one of the great villain turns of 2000s horror. Uncomfortable and highly effective.
Synopsis
Liz, Kristy, and Ben take a road trip across the interior and break down far enough from help that Mick Taylor's offer seems reasonable. Greg McLean takes real time establishing the victims before Mick enters the picture, which makes the shift in the film's nature hit harder. John Jarratt plays Mick with a sociable ease that makes the violence more disturbing for coming from someone so apparently comfortable.
