Don't Worry Darling has more on its mind than its reception acknowledged. The 1950s company town premise is a productive setting for what the film wants to say and Florence Pugh carries the investigation with full commitment. The direction doesn't always match her energy and the twist needs more weight to land as intended. An interesting film that falls a little short of its own ambitions.
