Vivarium is a concept film that commits so fully to its premise that the formal repetition becomes the horror itself. The suburban development that can't be escaped and the child that can't be explained together create an original piece of existential dread. Jesse Eisenberg and Imogen Poots are both excellent in what is essentially an endurance test for the audience.
