Why it’s HorroRated
The son of a murderous doctor and a hammer. Larry Drake commits fully to the bit and the procedure sequences are memorably uncomfortable in a way that works entirely in the film's favor. Corbin Bernsen plays his disintegration with a seriousness that takes the absurd premise completely seriously. Better than its reputation.
Synopsis
The film builds its horror around medical procedure in ways that are more unsettling than outright gore. Larry Drake plays Evan with a calm sincerity that makes him genuinely threatening rather than cartoonish. Brian Yuzna directs with confidence and the dental procedure sequences are memorably uncomfortable throughout.
