Why it’s HorroRated

Halloween Kills has a real idea about mob violence and collective fear that it never quite makes land the way it should. The expanded Haddonfield community gives the film scope the first entry didn't have and Michael Myers has rarely been more unstoppable. A middle chapter that asks you to trust the conclusion.

Synopsis

The middle chapter of Green's trilogy expands the scope of the Halloween night massacre and makes Haddonfield's collective response to Michael as much of the subject as the killer himself. The mob violence complicates the franchise's usual moral clarity in ways the film is more interested in presenting than resolving. A transitional entry that sets up the trilogy's conclusion.
