Why it’s HorroRated
Paranormal Activity 2 is a well-executed expansion of the original's format. Installing cameras throughout a house rather than one bedroom gives the film room to work with space and the entity's focus on the infant adds a specific dread the first film didn't have. A sequel that understood what it needed to do and did it.
Synopsis
The second Paranormal Activity installs cameras throughout the Rey family home after an apparent break-in and follows what an entity wants from their infant son. The expanded location and the presence of the baby give the sequel a different flavor of dread. A competent continuation of the format that delivers consistent tension.
