The Marked Ones brings more cultural specificity to the Paranormal Activity mythology than any previous entry and the Latin community setting gives the found footage format a texture it had been lacking. The connection to the main series mythology is handled well in the final sequences. A side entry that justifies itself more than most franchise spin-offs manage.
Synopsis
The Marked Ones follows Jesse in a Latino community in Los Angeles after a neighbor's death opens an investigation into a local demonic cult.
