Seed of Chucky goes full meta-horror comedy and Don Mancini directing his own franchise is as self-aware as it sounds. Jennifer Tilly playing herself alongside Tiffany is a clever bit. It's more comedy than horror and the humor is hit-or-miss but it has personality and doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is.

Synopsis

Glen resurrects his parents and kicks off a negotiation between Chucky's violence and Tiffany's desire for something more domestic. Don Mancini directs his own franchise for the first time and takes it in the most self-aware direction it has gone. Jennifer Tilly playing both herself and Tiffany is the cleverest thing the film does.
