Silent Hill Revelation has the creature designs and the production design of the first film but loses the formal coherence that made Gans's original unsettling. The narrative is harder to follow without game knowledge and the film relies on the first film's atmosphere without regenerating it. For Silent Hill fans who need the story continued.
Synopsis
The sequel sends Heather into Silent Hill with more direct game adaptation ambitions than the first film. The creature designs continue to be strong and several sequences deliver real horror. The narrative is harder to follow without game knowledge and the film never achieves the atmosphere of Gans's original.
