Stay Alive is a perfectly functional horror film built around a video game death mechanic that was timely in 2006 and still has some legs. The execution is serviceable and the cast does the work asked of it. Not a film that demands your attention but an easy one to spend an evening with if the subgenre appeals to you.

Synopsis

Stay Alive follows a group of friends who receive an underground game after a mutual acquaintance dies and find that dying in the game kills you the same way outside it. The video game horror premise is a reasonable 2006 update of the tech horror subgenre and the film executes it with serviceable craft.
