Brainscan is a 1994 tech horror film that handles the concept with more self-awareness than most of its peers. The Trickster is an interesting villain design and Edward Furlong is well-cast as the isolated teenager. It's a product of its moment but an enjoyable one.
Synopsis
Michael gets a promised completely immersive experience and what it delivers is murder. The Trickster shows up to ensure he keeps playing. The film handles its 1994 tech horror concept with more self-awareness than most of its peers and Edward Furlong is well-cast as the isolated teenager at the center of it.
