Why it’s HorroRated

The Fly II can't match its predecessor emotionally but it delivers on the body horror and has a more straightforward revenge arc that gives it its own identity. Eric Stoltz is good in the lead. The practical effects team continues the grotesque work from the original. A solid follow-up.

Synopsis

Martin Brundle grows up accelerated inside a corporate facility surrounded by researchers who treat him as property. When he leaves to find a world he wasn't prepared for, his biological inheritance begins expressing itself. Eric Stoltz carries the lead well and the revenge arc in the third act gives the film a more satisfying shape than most sequels manage.
