Why it’s HorroRated
I Know What You Did Last Summer is slicker than most late-90s slashers and benefits from a strong cast. The hook killer is a simple and effective design and the film uses its coastal setting well. It's not reinventing anything but it's well-made genre entertainment that holds up better than its reputation suggests.
Synopsis
A night of bad decisions on a coastal road leaves a group of teenagers with a secret they've agreed never to discuss. A year later, a message in a mailbox tells them someone was watching the whole time. The film uses its cast well and builds dread from the simple premise of a secret that didn't stay buried.
