Why it’s HorroRated
Finally letting audiences see the entity, as dark, shifting shapes through that special lens, is a bold swing for a series built on what stays hidden, and the 3D release leaned all the way into it. Ivy George is quietly eerie as Leila, and the old tapes of Katie and Kristi give longtime fans a few satisfying connections. The trade-off is that showing more makes it frightening less often, and the family's choices strain patience. Save it for after the earlier films, when the callbacks and the last chapter of Katie's storyline carry more weight.
Synopsis
Set in December 2013, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension (2015) follows Ryan and Emily Fleege after a camera found in their new home's garage begins showing a presence circling their daughter, Leila. Gregory Plotkin, an editor on several earlier entries, makes his directing debut with the sixth film in the series, which was released in 3D and ties the family to old tapes of young Katie and Kristi. It closes out the storyline that began in 2007.
