Why it’s HorroRated

Return of the Living Dead III takes the franchise somewhere unexpected by making it a love story, and it works. The transformation sequences are inventive and Mindy Clarke's performance is both disturbing and sympathetic. It's more body horror than comedy which sets it apart from the earlier entries. A real underseen gem.

Synopsis

Return of the Living Dead III takes the franchise somewhere unexpected by making it a love story, and it works. Mindy Clarke's transformation is both disturbing and sympathetic and the film treats the romantic dimension with genuine sorrow. More affecting than any entry in the series had any right to be.
