Synopsis
Ed and Lorraine work the Perron family case in 1971 Rhode Island, where the history of the house turns out to be longer and stranger than initially apparent. James Wan shoots the period setting with a visual grammar that references classic horror without feeling derivative. The ensemble is strong and the film builds its dread through accumulation rather than shock.
