Why it’s HorroRated

World War Z is a more disciplined film than its production history suggested it could be. The global scope is handled efficiently and the Jerusalem sequence is as effective a piece of large-scale horror filmmaking as the decade produced. The ending is quieter than the setup promises but it works. A blockbuster horror film that delivers.

Synopsis

Gerry Lane works to find the source of an outbreak that moves at a speed that defies standard zombie behavior. Marc Forster's film is most effective in its large-scale set pieces, particularly the Jerusalem sequence. The ending opts for a quiet solution to a global problem that divides audiences consistently.
