American Horror Stories is a lighter, more accessible version of what AHS does, with standalone episodes that don't require any investment in a continuing story. The quality varies a lot and some episodes are more interesting as premises than as finished pieces of television. But when it lands, it lands well, and the format means a weak episode is over in an hour. Worth it for AHS fans who want more of that world and that sensibility.
Synopsis
Each self-contained episode tells a different horror story, sometimes revisiting familiar AHS locations and sometimes building entirely new premises. The subgenre shifts from episode to episode, which keeps things unpredictable even when individual entries don't fully deliver. Worth it for AHS fans who want more of that world's sensibility.
