Longlegs is Oz Perkins at the height of his atmospheric control, building a Pacific Northwest dread that owes as much to Twin Peaks as to traditional serial killer cinema. Maika Monroe's Lee Harker is one of the more distinctive recent horror protagonists and Nicolas Cage's Longlegs is exactly as unnerving as the film needed him to be. One of the stronger studio horror films of recent years.
Synopsis
Oz Perkins builds the film around the specific atmosphere of the Pacific Northwest and Maika Monroe's performance of compulsive investigation. Nicolas Cage's Longlegs is exactly as unnerving as the film needed him to be. A slow-burn serial killer film that knows the genre it's working in.
