Channel Zero is one of the most formally distinctive horror anthologies American television has produced, using the psychological structure of internet horror legends as the basis for stories that operate more like waking nightmares than conventional narratives. Nick Antosca maintains a commitment to dread over explanation that the creepypasta format rewards enormously. Candle Cove in particular is stunning. All four seasons are worth your time if the format appeals to you at all.
Synopsis
Nick Antosca's Channel Zero adapts well-known Creepypasta internet horror stories into full six-episode seasons, giving the dreamlike source material room to expand into something sustained. Season one, Candle Cove, follows a child psychologist returning to his hometown who remembers a local children's TV show nobody else can confirm existed. Each subsequent season takes a different legend with a completely different visual approach.
